D.El.Ed Course Qualifications required , Fees, Syllabus Important Information
The first step in choosing a profession as a teacher is
the job of a primary teacher. According to the changed rules of the government,
it is now compulsory to do D.El.Ed Course for employment in primary school.
Public and private D.El.Ed colleges under West Bengal Board of Primary
Education (WBBPE) have been notified for admission of 2 year D.El.Ed Course and Already for D.El.Ed Course for the academic year 2021-23. Admission process
has started.
D.El.Ed is a State Level 2 Year Diploma Courses. This
diploma course is mandatory for teaching in West Bengal Primary and Upper
Primary departments. This D.El.Ed course currently provides training to the
candidates on child development policy, teaching practice and role of teacher
in student formation, teaching skills, current classroom trends, some
philosophical theories etc.
Required Qualifications for D.El.Ed Course: –
To be admitted for D.El.Ed course in any government or
private college in West Bengal, the applicant must first be an Indian citizen. Also,
the following qualifications are required –
Educational Qualification-
Applicants for the D.El.Ed course must have a minimum of
50% marks in the Higher Secondary or Higher Secondary equivalent examination.
However, for ST, SC, OBC-A, OBC-B, Ex-Servicemen and Physically Handicapped
candidates there is a 5% discount.
Linguistic Qualifications-
Candidates who wish to be admitted through Bengali,
Hindi, Urdu, Nepali or Santali should have the subject as compulsory subject in
their higher secondary. Higher secondary must also have English as a second
language or another language.
Age limit of D.El.Ed Course: –
The maximum age limit for candidates in General category
who wish to be admitted in D.El.Ed course is 35 years. The upper age limit is
38 years for OBC category candidates, 40 years for ST / SC category candidates,
45 years for physically challenged candidates and 55 years for candidates
working or retiring in any organization.
D.El.Ed Course Application Fee: –
Rs. 100 / – for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 50 / –
for SC / ST / PWD candidates.
Application Process for Admission to D.El.Ed Course: –
Candidates who want to be admitted in any government
college for D.El.Ed course have to go directly to the official website of WBBPE
and fill the form. In the case of government colleges, no entrance test will be
taken this year.
Online Application Procedure for D.El.Ed Course-
- To apply, first login to WBBPE’s official website
http://www.wbbpe.org/. - Then, click on the ‘Apply Now’ tab there.
- Then, complete the form with all the required documents
described in the application form. Then the houses of educational qualifications
have to be filled.
Then you need to upload the following documents-
- Secondary Admit Card as proof of age;
- High school mark sheet;
- A copy of the applicant’s photograph and a copy of the
signature; - Domicile Certificate (not applicable to everyone);
- Caste Certificate (if any);
- Disability Certificate (if any);
- Certificates required for retired employees.
Remember, the size of these documents should not exceed
200 kb)
Then look at the complete form and click on the ‘SUBMIT’
button.
Then you have to pay the application fee.
Once the fee has been paid, the application form should
be printed out and the application ID should be written down for later use.

** At present there are many private educational
institutions where the salary is much higher than that of government primary
teachers.
